-was woken up at 3:30AM to go see the raising of the flag only to find out it was pouring rain, so i went back to sleep
-woke up again at 7AM
-left to go to Tiantan~some shrine thing; was very interesting because the locals, esp the elderly, used the grounds as a park; very lively, good feel to it; except middle actual buildings which = all tourists
-afterwards went to Xiushuijie, 9 floors building that was a mall well known for being very very cheap if one can haggle
-B2 - food court; B1 - bags and shoes; 1 - clothes; 2 - clothes; 3 - silk, scarves, ties, formal clothing, children clothes; 4 - jewelry, toys, random stuff; 5 - designer stuff; 6 - restaurant; 7 - teahouse
-had lunch in the food court; wasn’t that great
-then went through floors B1-4; bought a pair of soft leather black gloves, a thin jacket, many pairs of earrings, a ring, a butterfly knife, a hair curler, a scarf, and perhaps other things
-super tired. took subway to get to a classy restaurant, Bianyi, well known for its roasted duck or whatever
-food was surprisingly good
-spent 2 hours getting back to hotel with subway + bus
-hate public transportation

-woke up at 3:30am to go see the raising of the flag
-4:48AM: was not that impressed with it
-5AM-7:30AM: waited in line to see Mao Zedong’s dead body. was creeped out by the reverence paid to it
-pouring rain. went to Gugong, the Forbidden City, which is minorly boring but has a lovely garden in the back
-got groped by an elbow. seriously. -.-’ men in china are really disgusting
-finished Gugong, 10AM; everyone = dead tired; waits for uncle to pick us up; finished Mossflower
